Desire Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Desire

In a flicker of first brilliant morning light
Reflected off the broken shade of passion
Split by the prism of remote possibility
Passed through the molecules that line my heart
And the mind's synapses where dreams of romance reside
A simple waking dream filters through a hopeful glimmer
And passes thousands of miles per second
Finds it's way through your distant window pane
And dances tenderly upon your sleeping lips
Spelling hopeful words of love unspoken
From a romantic dream you awaken
And in a single flash across your heart
Like seeing a neon sign outside your window
On a monsoon night
You suddenly understand
With diamond-like clarity
That a seed of love has been planted
And now it grows inside of you
Against all odds
As your heart skips a beat
Desire has no bounds
