Desire. Poem by Driss Ezzireg

Desire.

Heat in twin heat finds carnal solace.
Let it bring fire and swiftly retire.
Beyond heat sits and softly enquires
A soul of multitudinous desires.
Waiting for the soothing cool of night
To heal the wounds of the much scorched skin
And feel the bliss that comes from deep within.
Beyond heat lies a soul there and then
Redeemed, naked and stripped of all sin.
Now the gracious and tranquil soul admires
what it has long and intensely desired.
