The Humble. Poem by Driss Ezzireg

The Humble.

Rating: 5.0

"Find your way among the humble",
My father used to say.
He lived humble.
He died humble.
"The humble shall inherit the heavens",
My father used to chant.
He lived humble.
He died humble.
"God has promised the humble
To be the first to quench the thirst",
My father used to mutter.
He lived humble.
He died humble.
"God has promised to be the humblest among the humble",
My father used to murmur.
He lived humble.
He died humble.
"The humble shall be the noblest among the noble",
My father used to mumble.
He died humble.
We lived to crumble.
