Destiny Our Destiny Poem by Aron Lelei

Destiny Our Destiny

I stand amazed at the leeway highway,
The road that seems to lead to my success
But at the back of my memory,
The road ahead leads to a dead end.
A zone of no forward, backwards a dream
Our destiny, our own making.

At the roads junction a mile away,
A road sign reads, ”beyond, lies your real self.”
But the far to my present state,
Predicts no further success zone.
The meanders, bumps and road cross entrenches.
Our vision, what a destiny ahead!

From a distance out of memory,
I can clearly see mother’s predictions and wills.
Views of sunny, serene country emerges
Same country she so far desired to inherit
And was visionary sure of its ownership.
Our vision, what a destiny ahead!

That day, how I detest its exhumation.
That day when the world cramped down
That painful time mum was flagged off,
And away she began marathon heaven’s journey
To claim her vision and dreams
Our vision, what a destiny to behold!

On this auspicious Memorial Day,
Many praises with notations rent the air.
All valuing your short earthly life with us
The life that we today cherish for its success.
And that we envision as our guideline to victory.
Our vision, will finally be our destiny.

Finally, to culminate all proceedings
Today hats are off, hearts bowed
Mums memory still lingers as fresh as then.
Rest in peace dear mum.
Our time too is drawing ghastly nigh
When our visions shall be pronounced.
