Devoted To Devious Gain, Not Love Poem by Michael Walkerjohn

Devoted To Devious Gain, Not Love

An endless rain,
of devoted, unstained
and everlasting love;
is falling through the cosmos,
its destination earth;
are you aware
of this coming wave of change,
have you no shame to admit
you feel the new rebirth?

You are all such prisoners
of slothful thoughts,
you lead passionless lives
and seek unrighteous gains;
your meaningless lives,
are lost forever to true love;
you deserve to be beaten,
and dragged about, and worse.

You all know pain,
but don't accept the reasons why;
you all go about your own thinking,
as if it were life;
your consciousness,
is blunted and dull and cold;
your very souls, have grown callous,
and oh so old!

You humans are all visibly naked,
clothed only in shame;
bodies swollen and abused
from devious excesses,
and false expectations
in gluttony and personal gains.

You insanely strive,
for selfish and singular gain;
of things instead of holding steady,
and having spiritual love
rain down on your lives,
your families, yourself,
what shame!

You are all so common,
so unordinary, so devious
so rude, and oh;
so inhumanly and insanely vain!
