Dhows And Horses Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Dhows And Horses

Dhows and horses

I have been, many times,
-caught between the gunshots
-of the law-enforcers
-and those who fight the laws…
-therefore, I, have the eyes
-to see and feel both sides.

Would be with governments
-only if acted right…

Sadly though, know first-hand
-governments are corrupt;
- (Everywhere, all over,
-Washington to Tehran!)

I have seen Jerry-cans
-filled with oil and diesel
-sold, exchanged, at borders,
-even across river; of US-Canada.

Poor are men, and women
-who do best to work, save
-for crump of bread
-old, dried or fresh.
-Forced, they go a long way
-to search for work-place.
-Some end in factories
-some end in the service
-some drive, transport,
-smuggle on shoulder…
-dhow or horse…
-Some go to body-sale,
-in…out of…brothel…

Such people, when ignored…
-do what is possible
-even if obvious as sunlight…
- (What is done is crime…)

This they do to live life!
-life is what we, all, want!
