Did Nasa Land On The Moon? Poem by Paul Hartal

Did Nasa Land On The Moon?

On July 20,1969, Apollo 11 landed on the Moon.
It was the first manned mission of the six crewed landings
of NASA to our enigmatic natural satellite.
However, in spite of the solid evidence that the Apollo Program
was genuine, millions of people believe that the Moon landings
were hoaxes, faked operations sponsored by Hollywood
and staged at the Walt Disney Studios.

Conspiracy theorists claim, for instance,
that the iconic image of the US Star-Spangled Banner
on the Moon, placed by astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong,
is a hoodwinking photo. It is a fake picture,
a forgery, they say, because the flag flutters,
and, as you know, the Moon lacks atmosphere
and therefore there is no wind to ripple the flag.

Now, while it is true that there is no wind on the Moon,
the flag appears to wave nevertheless, because a metal rod
inserted into it prevents its drooping and at the same time
it also creates the visual illusion of a fluttering
American Stars and Stripes.
