Did You Ever Feel Confused Poem by Francis Duggan

Did You Ever Feel Confused

Did you ever feel confused in your thinking as some of us do now and then
Well all cannot be perfect women and all cannot be perfect men
And all of us cannot be winners for one to win many must lose
And I do not agree with those who tell us that success is a thing you can choose.

I do not like it when people ask of me what sort of a job do you do
I feel like telling them mind your own business what I work at should not concern you
I feel they are trying to classify me like how much greater are they than me
How come for every known high achiever so many are in poverty?

Such people do not have good values since people they like to compare
They look down on every poor bugger and look up to every millionaire
When they ask you what sort of work you do you they are trying for to pigeon hole
To them you're a loser if you work for a low income and you're a loser if you're on the dole.

Did you ever feel confused in your thinking and did you ever ask yourself what is life about
And when people ask what sort of work you do your worth to the State do you doubt?
If than you some people have more money it gives a boost to their ego and pride
And they play their part though they may not know it in upkeeping the social divide.
