Differences Between Two Poets Addressed: Perhaps Just Idle Thoughts As Far As You Are Concerned

Wednesday morning, June 5, 2024 at 7: 08 a.m. and 7: 38 a.m.

My mind is free; yours is not, this
the major difference between us.
Miles, miles and miles between us.
Will you ever bridge the gap, make
amends? I doubt it—personalities,
temperaments being what they are,
almost everyone out for themselves,
poets included. (Most people really
don't change much though some say
they do … well.) I could tell you stories—
Jory Graham at Iowa, and then Harvard.
Should you reflect long enough, meditate,
maybe … well, no, that's just one more idle
thought. I always think the best of people until …
Well, there are certain alternatives, certain roads
one might take, yet personality, really character
usually decides things in the end—read Heraclitus—
the sense of an ending, the sense of a final ending …
