Different Poem by Janelle Morehart

Different

Im different
Is that so wrong?
why cant you just deal
With the fact that im better than you
I have morals and standards
While your nothing and you do anything
For just the sad never lasting feeling
That your loved and your no longer alone
But then the very next day
You go searching for another
To fill the void that grows within you
I scorn me because im different then you
I laugh at the fact that you hate me
We are so diffeent, yet we were friends
For the longest time we were
But now thats over and we have moved on
But yet you still search to fill the gap within your heart
No longer friends, you search for more
To replace me, the only one who saw you for who you are
Who understood your pain and wants
But you lost me and now you seek to fill the void
Too bad you cant, nothing can replace what i have given you
Understanding and sympathy
You search for love in the wrong place, for the wrong reasons
You scorn me because Im different
I laugh because your the same
Im so different and you hate that but yet you want it
We're so different you and I
You had your chance but you let go by
And now I sit here and watch
As slowly day by day
Piece by piece
You die
