Dig The Graveyard Poem by Asit Kumar Sanyal

Dig The Graveyard

Behind every popular author
there are 100 writers
whose books are not sold
behind them another 100
doesn't get publisher
behind them yet another 100
whose manuscripts are unfinished
and gathers dust in drawers
and behind each one of them
we get 100 people
who had a dream of writing a book
but we hear of only the successful man
not others
and fail to recognise
how unlikely literacy success is
The same goes for photographers,
artists, players, actors, beauty queens...
media never digs the graveyard of unsuccessful
it's not their job too
if you want to know the truth
You have to dig it yourself.
