Dimkpa Ten Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

Dimkpa Ten

Rating: 5.0

Never sat nor discussed with you
Neither seen you, not even from afar
Your nobility elders greatly speak
For younger nobles to comprehend and emulate
And hear I do much more than enough
To write volumes of your conquest

The most humble of men
Your giant size not withstanding
Humble not of fear
But a noble birth
The giant Iroko tree that extends welcoming tentacles
To guest species with kindness

Dimkpa ten, ten in one
Embodiment of bravery
Wings of mother hen spread
Secure chicks under its fold

Your presence send jitters
Down the spine of intruders
The strong man shield warrior

Strength of bull, not of bully
Symbol of supreme virility masked in gentility
Not tamed by force
But by guile will the pleasure of your dragon purr be heard
You are pride of ancestry.
