Dinner Out. Poem by Safiyyah Manjra

Dinner Out.

Rating: 5.0

Today I sat alone at a table for two.
I saw couples walk in,
One after the other.

They walk in hand in hand.
The fellow usually guides woman up the stairs,
I see the way she speaks to the waiter,
I notice how he looks at her.

It is fun to hear couple talks.
The guy usually teases the girl fondly.

She usually complains of how irritating he's being,
While I am trying all so hard to quit from staring.
I couldn't help but continued looking.

She notices me and my eyes pop,
I am in a state of shock.
My heart races.
My shoulder nudges.
I cracked a smile and looked away.

The guys notices and asks,
"What's a beautiful young lady like you, sitting alone at a table made for two? "

I laughed and said,
"I haven't met the right guy who would stay"
They both laugh and his lady says,
"Who knows he may not be that far away."

I almost burst into tears.
As my little heart is one guarded by fears.

Little did she know I was joking,
As I never made the effort,
To allow someone to stay.
Someone, who was willing.

Is that why there are only two + behind the 10? I'm glad you enjoyed it Sir Smith.
