Dirty Plates Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

Dirty Plates

Dirty plates

A cook cooked with tainted crockery
Went to eat his food on a rockery
There were lots of flies
To swat them he tried
The bad stomach he got was no sorcery.

He made some salt and sugar solution
The mix a salt and sugar collision
Added little salt
Like making a malt
His problems far from resolution

A neighbour found him lying on the ground
Attracted by the painful howling sound
He had become weak
Was struggling to speak
The neighbour called 911 to come round.

They put him on oxygen and a drip
The poor cook was really really quite sick
He said to himself
Of stuff on the shelf
'The dirty plates in the sink stink i think'
