Dirty Politics - Poem by Hasmukh Amathalal

Dirty politics

Uncontrollable bulls
Are let loose to call
And malign nation
National heads and army jawans*

They have employed tactics
To air their comments
And later withdraw with apology
To escape the criticism from country

As they have lost the power
Now they have employed no peace all over
Burn and raise issues to bring down national economy
But country goes ahead with strong base and prosperity

"Burn down police station and transport"
Incite mob to put everything on fire at all points
Make the milk vendors to pour milk on road
Throw fresh vegetables on ground

Not a single pie is given from their fund
They rush to gain cheap popularity all round
Criticize each move on national issues
And harp on failure that is natural or not due

For seventy good years
They ruled without fears
Poor disappeared with poverty
Rich skyrocketed with scams in country

The hand was down
With mystery curtain drawn
The public voted in disfavor
Now they are on revenge all over

Jawans: - soldiers
