Dishonor - Trauma Drama Poem by Singleton M. Tate

Dishonor - Trauma Drama

Flailing his arms
as he
tries to stay
above the
waves
overtaking him

His life flashes
by
It took
only a couple
of seconds

There seemed
to be no point
for this constant
reminder
as
...Blood was
on his hands

He thought that
he had outran his
Treacherous
Shadow

He thought that
he could just
go on
as if
it never happened

Just then
he
went under
the current
with no help
in sight
He's panicking
'Tis
frigidly cold

Underneath
the water
was
...an ominous
light
Was
this the miracle
he desperately
wished for

It was very murky
...What's that
he thought
...An angel
it was
...so benign
He was
in shock
as
everything
was stilled

In a haze
...the angel
metamorphosed
into his
...Murder Victim

Dripping in
fresh blood
as if it had
just occurred
...His Transgression

His eyes widened
as if
bulging from
their sockets
as
they became
fixed

...She whispered
softly, as
he started
to
wrestle with
this apparition
He was now
...consuming
gallons of water

...Remember me
'Tis I Dishonor
who has
...Come to Reap
your soul
...'Tis Time
For
Eternity
...Sleep
As
...Now
Ye Shall Weep...
