Disposable Society Poem by Susan Sparks

Disposable Society

Disposable society...
Throw it all away
We've got unlimited resources
That's our distorted reality.

Time to stop dreamin' folks-
Our future's goin' up in flames
Time to start conservin' folks-
There isn't any other way.

Garbage in
Garbage out
Toss it out
Out, out and away.

Let someone else
Figure out
How to make it
Decay.

Just because it's used
Doesn't make it refuse!

Restore it!
Repair it!
Donate it!
Recycle it!
Revamp it!
Convert it!
Reinvent it!
Trade it!
Reuse it! ...

Just don't refuse it!

Disposable society
We've got EVERYTHING to lose
Disposable society...
It's a deal we CAN'T refuse!

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I too love the transfusion of new life given to older, recycled, reinvented, rediscovered items. I invite you to read A Corduroy Coat....and as Earth Day coming soon April 22nd, why not each of us make the absolute effort to be greener....save the world one tree at a time. PEACE
