Distant Call Poem by Subarna Chakraborty

Distant Call

I am like a distant call
Over the forest's fog,
Clear enough but with no trace.
I am the gentle calm of the rainforest;
It can be peace, I know not.
I am the ripples bathed in the scarlet sun,
The gentle feet of a butterfly.
I am the movement of the northern wind,
Chill yet safe to feel.

I am the forest fire
That burns the bridge
To a distorted, twisted land.
I am the boat in the chest of the ocean.
I am the desert's sparkling sand.
