Divided States Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Divided States

Republican, Democrat or undecided,
You have to admit we are divided.
It's hard to see who's right or wrong,
Because we just can't get along.

Fighting and riots rule the land,
But nobody is lending a helping hand.
All voices have a right to be heard,
But violent actions overshadow the words.

We must stand as a powerful country,
In order for us all to remain free.
This chaos can't continue any more,
For we're on the verge of another civil war.

We must find a way for us to reunite,
Before all of us begin to lose sight.
Soon we just might meet our fate,
And end up being the divided states.
