Divinely Cherished (Sonnet #274) Poem by Tina Baaklini

Divinely Cherished (Sonnet #274)

The world's map means nothing to me,
For my world in your tender heart rests.
Unkind may be the waves that stir the restless sea
Yet, safely I float in your heart's sea of tenderness.

While the world is Babel's Tower of languages,
One language your pure heart speaks—LOVE.
Out of greed, nations make war, take hostages,
Divinely cherished I feel within your heart's cove.

Venetian gondolas enchant the night,
Yet none compare to journeys in your eyes.
The Northern Lights may dance in hues so bright,
But fade before your ever-radiant skies.

All leave this world with nothing but a grave,
Yet through our love, eternity we brave.
