'' Do Give It Thought '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' Do Give It Thought ''

We write compositions,
Which annoy and please,
I would say in equal measure,
Some start inquisitions,
Saying it's sleaze,
In the main the majority give pleasure.

Some live to moan,
It's their way of life,
Don't ever let them put you off,
It's rubbish they'll groan,
It can cut like a knife,
Some people do live life to scoff.

You do get the critic,
Who likes being mean,
Like the bully they live to annoy,
They become parasitic,
Staying on the scene,
To upset you is their main ploy.

Let your talent exude,
Don't be afraid,
Do let your gift be inviting,
If it's misunderstood,
Do not feel dismayed,
We read different things in writing.

Remain in control,
Don't seek to incite,
Context can and does cause corrosion,
From within your soul,
You will see the light,
Stay strong and you won't face erosion.

Learn from mistakes,
Be contrite if you're wrong,
But don't admit guilt if you're not,
You have what it takes,
To remain on song,
Writing poetry?
