Intense poem about a major problem in our world today, very poignant observation of what many women are and have been going through, brutally and violently. Thank you for being courageous enough to bring attention to this problem, Amitava. You have made a difference with this poem, I'm sure, in some woman's life. Knowing that there are, in fact, real men out there who are horrified with the way women are raped and abused all over the world. You are to be commended. RoseAnn
Very Beautiful flow of words from your pen. Its a good question... Centuries may keep on passing But the thoughts will be just passed from generation to generation. May be the crimes were committed every now and then But it started to come to light now only. We feel the crimes have increased, But crimes reported went on increasing comparing to previous ages. It just make us think Do we really live in modern days. Quiet interesting poem. Loved reading it. Thanks for sharing.
My fav line of this poem was Sometimes we shout and fight for the gay's liberty but women still remain man's property I think it speaks volumes as to just where we are in society as far as morality and nitpicking. We have put the cart WAY before the horse in this aspect. I love poems such as this which are socially conscious and bring insight to the way the author sees the world...Great Work
