Do You Have A Garden That You Really Love? Poem by Bryan Norton

Do You Have A Garden That You Really Love?

Do you have a garden that you really love?
One that you don't mind digging in?
You don't even mind if the Ladybugs eat it
That only kills your aphids dead.

I love my garden!
I love my garden!
My garden is full of
Aphid juice.

Do you have a weed patch that you really love?
One that you don't mind digging up.
You don't even mind if the neighbors hate it.
That only makes you plant some thistle.

I love my weed patch.
I love my weed patch.
My weed patch is full of
Groves of thistle.

Do you have a garden that you really love?
One that grows in the middle of a weed patch?
You don't even mind when you host a garden party
That makes your cousins grow a rash.

I love my weed garden!
I love my weed garden!
My weed garden grows
My cousin's rash.

Do you have a lawn garden that you really love?
One that is full of white top, dandelions, and morning glory?
You don't even mind when your cousins live next door
That only makes you plant upwind.

I love my lawn garden.
I love my lawn garden.
My lawn garden's full of
Dandelions.

Do you have a garden upwind from your neighbor?
One that is full of noxious weeds?
No, you say?
Consider the Cottonwood.
