Do You Know Who I Am? Poem by SylvaOnyema (SUPER.T) Ubah

Do You Know Who I Am?

How do I answer your question
Like an assignment to dig out your personality?

I know you are a man with one head
Just like any other man

With two eyes and one nose
Just like any other man

With one mouth
Just like any other man

With two hands and two legs
Just like any other man

Though you may be wealthy
But you don't know
How large my bank account is

You may be as proud as a peacock
But I like my simplicity

You may be as noisy as a loud speaker
But silence is a golden message

You may think you are somebody special
But standing before you
Is the Governor of your state

How do you feel now?
Vomiting teargas from your mouth
Rushing like uncontrollable sea

Do I know who you are?

I think I should answer your question-

You are a mere dust
Waiting to be blown away
By the wind someday

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

The last stanza of this poem emphasizes the absurdity or futility of life. We don't need to blow unnecessary trumpet about ourselves because the wold is vanity. Let us have tolerance and love one another instead.
