Do You Remember? Poem by Jessica Paige Davies

Do You Remember?

Rating: 5.0

Remember those memories?
The ones made of brilliant yellow,
A love built to last centuries.

Remember the time gone past?
When we fell in the pond,
Was our love really meant to last?

Do you honesty remember?
The time you proposed,
The moment I became a family member.

Do you remember my love?
When you broke my heart,
I thought what we had was not a fleeting dove.

I remember watching,
How you gazed at her,
How you sent me sailing.

Then the storm arrived.
The waves soothing,
As the boat capsized.

My tears melting into the ocean,
As the water dragged me down,
My body laden with emotion.

With my mind clouded,
I watched my lfe slipping and dying,
My soul torn and shrouded.

This is your fault,
My dearest.
Oh how I wish I was rich sea salt.

I would be adored,
Needed by all creatures,
Granted my own reward.

But alas,
I am dead.
Broken like shattered glass.

My love,
Remember the promise to return to our cliff?
Watch as I sing and dance from above.

To lure corrupted souls,
And end their suffering,
Only I can take this role.

Will you remember me?
I am a Lorelei,
So open your eyes and look unto the sea.
