Do You See What I See? Poem by Ben Gieske

Do You See What I See?

Rating: 2.9

DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE?

I do not see me whole.
We are two and must be one.
Then we are whole for another one.

Two hemispheres make a world.

I do not want what you have.
When you have what I have,
I then will have what you have.

We must swim in the same river.

You are the same as me.
That is why we are a match.
In ways that we differ
is more the reason for our match.

The shell fits the nut just right.

We give, we share.
We receive, we bear
One to each and each to each other,
Then to another and to others.

We come from different Edens.
Our meeting is an oasis.

It will never end.
It should never end.
Love is the eternal now
Even when in mortal vases found.

It’s time that ages in faces.
