Do You Think Twice Now? Poem by Cristian Bendria

Do You Think Twice Now?

when you lost control
lights out, mydriasis, sour cherry liquor
I scream, you cry all the way home
I surmise that your husband keeps you warm

didn't your green eyes look into mine?
and didn't our cheeks fuse at the wrong time?

did you think twice then?
and do you think twice now?

all of our synchronized posts on Instagram
what made you think people are blind?

OH LORD,
I consider getting hit by a tram an option
just to stop thinking of things in slow motion

BUT NO!
let's order something on Glovo for tonight, oh

your mind dreams of different kinds of models
and I diagnose that you'd date them if they have spine problems

your smile, my crime
tumultuous rebellion, all by design
did you think twice then?
and do you think twice now?

BUT NO!
2 a.m. on the clock,
I was counting the footsteps to my block

OH LORD,
I consider getting hit by a tram an option
just to stop thinking of things in slow motion

BUT NO!
the jacket your so-called friends saw on your profile
they had no idea all along it was mine

did you think twice then?
and do you think twice now?

let's order something on Glovo for tonight, oh Lord,
but no.
