Does Fate Always Take Sides? Poem by Saurabh Saxena

Does Fate Always Take Sides?

25 years into this world,
already wanting to get free.
Invisible chains of bondage,
and a lock without a key.
Ah! these festering wounds,
a heart sore to the core.
Thousand shattered dreams,
a spirit too broken to explore!

Life seemed so rosy,
when young and bright
Dreams were vivid,
As moon on a fortnight.
So why now this gulf,
such deep abyss
Between the wishes fulfilled
And those gone amiss!

Now, Hope and despair,
daily lock for the scrum
The game gets over,
with Hope always glum
The dark cloud of despair,
still victoriously hung
Does fate take sides,
As a general rule of thumb?

I believe we take sides and fate accommodates us!
