Does Not Matter Poem by Francis Duggan

Does Not Matter

Does not matter where you come from or your nationality
We are all homo sapiens of the human family
Though of different skin pigmentation we may look different visually
We interbreed with each other we are leaves of the one tree

Does not matter your skin colour whether you be black, white or brown
Few do wish to know about you if financially you are down
Money creates inequality this is how it is and will always be
They never make the news headlines those who live in poverty

Money is to your advantage to say differently would be a lie
But it will not keep you living you too one day have to die
And that it well may make you happy there is not any guarantee
I know of some people far from wealthy who in their ways are carefree

You may be a great sports person at what you do the best
Never found for to be wanting when you are put to the test
But one day someone younger and better than you will come along
One can say that those who tell us time rusts iron on this has not got it wrong

Does not matter how great you are or of your wealth and fame
There is one far greater than you Mother Nature is her name
You may be revered by many as a great one in your prime
But like the leaves of the Autumn you will fade away to time.
