Don'T Poem by Alicia Meyers

Don'T

A person can control their own actions,
They can decide what to say,
What to do,
What to think.

But once they believe they aren't good enough in this world,
And that they think they would be better off dead,
Or they think nothing would have happened if they were gone,
And that everyone would forget them.

That isn't true,
Your friends love you,
And they would miss you if you're gone,
And your family loves you too.

If you cut yourself,
Sure the pain goes away,
But the pain in your body wont,
And the pain you wanted to leave would still come back.

Everything happens for a reason,
God didn't create you for nothing,
Everyone wants to know what the reason is,
But life is a huge secret.

Once you move out of the house,
You can live your life,
And in the future,
You won't live your past.

Just because of the events of your life,
You shouldn't have them get to you,
Be brave and suck it up,
You only have one chance.
