'Don'T Live Your Life Lke This Girl'

Every day gets darker
Every second it gets colder
And with every step seems harder.
All she wants is just to be stronger
Just to say she made it through
But she knows she can’t
Those words will never be spoken by this girl
She’s the girl that sits and stares out the window
And dreams,
Of a better world,
Of a new start
For someone to hold.
For that one moment,
Of pure happiness
Where nothing bad happens
When all she does is sit and smiles
Forgets the world outside
And just holds on to that one moment.
Not letting it slip away
Never leaving the grips of her tight hold.
She closes her eyes and lets out a deep sigh
Knowing that moment will never come
So secretly she dies a little more on the inside
And fears the day when she loses her strength.
She fights everyday to take her next step
To hold back her tears and forget her fears.
She is close to her last hour
Her life all ripped and torn.
Before her last words
She sits and looks out the window
And thinks about her little dream world.
As her last tear escapes from her eyes
She managed to smile as she fell to the floor.
Note in hand she says a simple warning.
“Don’t let your moments slip away,
Don’t wait to smile until your last day,
Don’t go through life being alone,
Take a chance and be heard.
Don’t live your life like this girl”.
