I was talking to a girl
She seemed really nice
Then she told me something
Something she never should have told
She told me that she would never
Never talk to some one who was “punk rock”
I asked her what she meant by “punk rock”
She said what I thought she would
Witch is what most people would say

She said you know
The emo people, the really scary ones
They wear all back
They have back nails
Their hair is always in their face
She asked is I knew what she was talking about
I just smiled and said yes
And walked away

The next time I saw her
We were at the mall
I had on my black jeans
A black shirt
Black nails
And my bangs in my face

I walked up to her and asked
Is this what you were talking about?
Like I thought she had nothing to say
I laughed and walked away

It goes to show you
That labels were meant for things
Not for people
Just because some dressing one way
And acts one way
Do they have to be labeled as something
Other then their self
