Don'T Say That You Like Me Poem by Rebekah Rogers

Don'T Say That You Like Me

don't say that you like me
just because i like you
because if you said that you like me
and i like you too
this crazy thing happens,
I'd believe what you said
and i'd end up hurt
when those 'feelings' turn dead

so you see it'd be better
if you said you use me
and don't really want
to just be with me
cause like i said id believe it
and think high of myself
only to be put down
by everyone else

people like me
are impressionable
but so much more than that
we just want to be whole
we want to be wanted
even if that means we are used
for all the wrong reasons
cause battered and bruised
we stand unprotected
cause that's what you do
when you want love that much
it always breaks you!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
when i say 'like' and 'love' i mean it in a friend way, but this poem is to a guy who i thought was my friend but when it comes down to us just hanging out and him not getting what he wants... he never wants to. i don't really blame him tho.
