Done With You Poem by dawn gaydos

Done With You

Rating: 5.0

Oh, so you call me cold now,
But have you forgotten the good I've shown?
Before I wore this armor, somehow,
I offered my kindness, I called it my own.

I stood by your side, through thick and through thin,
Gave all of my heart, every ounce, every part.
You took it for granted, mistook love for sin,
Now you're left wondering where it all starts.

I wish you could see through these tired eyes,
The warmth that I shared, the light that I brought.
But you played your games, spun your webs of lies,
And now I'm left with a heart that's been caught.

You used me like ink, to write your own tale,
Then tossed me aside, when the pages turned cold.
Now I'm rising up, I'm no longer frail,
I'll reclaim my power, be fierce and bold.

No more will I bend, no more will I break,
I've learned from the wounds that you left on my soul.
I'm done with the games, the heartache, the ache—
It's time to embrace what makes me whole.

So remember my heart, the chances I'd take,
The laughter we shared, the dreams that we spun.
But this is my moment, for my own sake—
I'm done with the shadows; it's time for the sun.
