Done Without A Fan Poem by Dean Meredith

Done Without A Fan

I weaselled my way in
With the very best of intentions

The cheap French wine was not so bad
Compared to the Australian

We all produce
Crowd each other out

If only - the pairings!
Desert & coast V hills & plains

Our drying rivers
And imbalances of snow

Terroir and infirmary
Resistance abounding

Please mention the war
We are proud & ashamed

But we learn from it
Thank God, thank Goddess

The subtle burn
Hyacinths slowly flowering
