Don't Go To Bed Angry Poem by Randy McClave

Don't Go To Bed Angry

Never go to bed angry
Always do forgive,
Don't go to sleep feeling crappy
Or emotionally combative,
Don't go to bed tossing and turning
From your anger flamed inside,
As your soul is burning
Maybe just because of someone's pride.
Think the reason that you're angry for
Is it worth a sleepless night,
Then think do you not care anymore
Would you rather just fume and fight,
Let not anger be your master
When you lay down your foolish head,
Don't think or hope for a disaster
And don't dream for vengeance or dread.
You may not get a chance to be apologetic
Or to say that I love you,
Always be forgiving and sympathetic
As you know, that you should really do,
Don't go to bed hateful and mad
Instead put a dollar in the swear cup,
Because your partner might awaken heartbroken and sad
Because, this time you may not wake up.
