Dot On The Sky Poem by Ojeikpo Elijah

Dot On The Sky

There once was a dot on the sky
It was small, but oh my oh my
With its bright golden glow
It would always steal the show
And catch every passerby's eye
It would dance and twirl in the air
Spreading love and joy without a care
People would stop and stare
At this dot that was rare
For it made the whole world seem fair
The dot would change colors at night
A magnificent, magical sight
From red to blue, then green
Creating a mystical scene
That would fill everyone's heart with delight
But one day, the dot disappeared
Leaving the sky looking so weird
No more colors, no more light
It was such a sad sight
For the dot was what everyone revered
But fear not, for the dot soon returned
The sky's beauty, once again, it spurned
And the people rejoiced
For the dot, they still voiced
Was the best thing the sky had ever earned
So if you ever see a dot in the sky
Take a moment, don't pass it by
For that tiny little spot
Can make your heart feel a lot
And leave you with a smile that's hard to deny.
