Dove Poem by Alexander Thomas

Dove

I saw true love in your stare,
But in truth you did not care,
With exaltation I couldn't sleep,
From you I didn't get a peep.

In falling to Earth my heart was broken,
Shattered by the brutal lies spoken,
From the pain of unrequited love,
I will set free this dove.

To love I held a candle,
For you too hot to handle,
But not for me but for you I cried,
Because it was in you faith had died.
