Down, But Not Beaten Poem by Ogwo David Emenike

Down, But Not Beaten

Rating: 3.5

I may be down now
Wallowing in mud of failure, disappointment and discouragement
I may be in pains now
In deadly earnest to find peace
Shame and reproach
Lurking around my being
I may have given in to despair
Cos I'm in a tunnel
With neither light nor hope
Weep not for me, oh fellow
I'll find my courage back
To rise on my feet again and move forward
When I rise
You'll sing a new song
