Down, Out And Forgotten Poem by Ray Hansell

Down, Out And Forgotten

She used to live a great life
But she's fallen on hard times
She tried to turn her life around
But she turned to committing crimes

Nothing major, just petty theft
Stealing what she can
Always hoping that someone
Will lend a helping hand

All of her old friends
Have turned their backs on her
Living life without her
Is just what they perfer

It's so very sad to see
Someone fall so far
Knowing that forever
She'll always wear that scar

Knowing people who were her friends
Turned their backs when she needed them
The biggest mistake she made in life
Was thinking that they were her friends

Who do people turn their backs
When someone is down and out
I thought friends helped out friends
Isn't that what friendship is all about

But many times we get fooled
Putting our trust in the wrong place
Because when your world is upside down
Sometimes it's hard to find a friendly face
