Like the Ganges
In the God Mahadeva's tangled hair,
Peoples of India, in the same way were tied
With the black rope of castism.
The jewel of the king Sagara, Bhagirath by name
Out of his year's long hard struggle and meditation
Brought the Ganges on the soil of earth
To revive all his ancestors, died on the curse
And to get rid of all sorrow.
By bring numerous clauses of law and justice
Into the structure of India's constitution
Babasaheb of Mahar family caused
The same effect.
It became synergistic to all
Irrespective of caste and creed
On receipt of well finished step stones
To fetch clean and wholesome water
From the river.
Diving into the bottom of seven seas
The stones, the Bharat Ratna brought out
Are very strong and durable.
It will last, I suppose-
For many years yet to come,
For many years yet to come.
