Dream Guy - Poem by Danielle Beechum

Head in the clouds
Searching the heavens
For Mr. Right
While lying next to him every night

Dreaming of Mr. Right’s perfect build,
Glorious stature, wonderful smile
And suave appeal
While ignoring the love that
He is giving me, genuine and oh so real.

Hoping that me and my dream man
Will meet and fall deep in love
Filled with passionate nights and blissful
Days, not caring about him who cares for
Me and can count all the ways.

Pondering about Mr. Right’s financial freedom
And carefree circumstance but overseeing
Him busting his ass to pay our bills, work two
Jobs, and still make time for romance.

So busy daydreaming about my perfect man
I lost the real thing and didn’t even notice
That he was everything I was dreaming about
Ignored his effort, oversaw his passion
and didn’t care for his love

Now Mr. Right is gone…damn.
