Dream Of It; Yet Don't! Poem by Lisbeth Sebastian

Dream Of It; Yet Don't!

Rating: 5.0

She yearned to soar high
She wanted to pluck the moon flower
She dreamt of flying on albatross's wings
She wanted to swim in the ocean, till the end of the world.

Yet everytime she picked up speed,
She sensed a tug at her legs;
For she was chained- by a heavy chain.
If she flew, it pulled her down;
If she swam, it dragged her back.

It gave her the feeling that she was free.
She was given the chance to explore;
Yet she had restrictions, limitations.

The string of the society,
Chained the woman of dreams,
To the peg of her household.
Who said we attained freedom decades back?
