Dreaming You Into Life Poem by Je'free Y .

Dreaming You Into Life

You who turned me into a hunter,
Luscious one hungered for since birth,
How many more moons will I count
Until I wake up to the sweet reality of you?
Maybe every sleeping hour is one step
Closer to savoring, feeling your shape.
Illusion after illusion, I ferociously searched-
On smooth and rugged terrains,
Amidst the savagery of the lands,
In the faces of strangers and of the familiar
Who I thought promised safety,
Even in the brilliant ends of rainbows.
They were like skin, layers peeled off
To reach you like the seed of a plum.

You, a vision, who overlaps my reflection
As I look through mirrors and clear lakes,
Almost stepped out one day to prove
Your truth. We were so close to embracing.
There must have been intersections
Where we never realized each other.
It seems everyone has been deeply involved
In his own particular blinded pursuit.
Even my roads have turned dizzy stretching
To get to you. But, what stops me?
Perhaps, you are the nine month old baby
Conceived in the womb of my brain,
And the maternal side of me nurtures you,
Dreaming you into life.
