Dreams Complete Poem by Runita R Menezes

We all dream of a shoulder to cry on,
We all wish for someone to depend on,
We hope for someone whom we can wholly love,
And we constantly pray for that someone, to the One above.
We all crave for happiness and peace
And wonder if our troubles will ever cease.
We all hope for a clear blue sky,
Where all our dreams can soar high and fly,
We all dream to find a heart so true,
But such hearts are so rare and so few.
We all long for a conscience that is clean,
One in which there’s no guilt to be seen.
We all dream for love that conquers loneliness,
Which is the worst form of sickness.
But as we journey through life's hard ways,
Our dreams remain incomplete everyday.
We begin to believe that it’s impossible to go on,
And our courage and hope seems to be gone.

But people to thee I say today,
Before you throw your precious lives away,
Lend a helping hand to someone in need,
To someone’s distressed cry pay heed.
Then you’ll wonder and begin to realize,
That all your wants and needs immaterialize.
Because you’ve helped another to his feet,
And all your dreams will effortlessly be complete.
