Dreams Of The Phantom Poem by The Muse

I dreamed a dream of days gone by
I dreamed that he did love me
I dreamed he had me in his arms
Crushed and loved the very best

But the thought just washed away
When I woke up and saw the light of day
Will I ever see it pass?
Will his love me encompass?

I put my sorrows to rest
When I know twas for the best
He wove a dream of many colours
I painted madly all night
& smudged them in the day

The rainbow tinted hues entice
The left me mesmerised
I sought him in the shadows
In endless tears I wallowed

I knew he wasn't mine
I knew it was never the right time
I never did want to wake up
When I knew how the fairytale did end
