Drifting Poem by Olawale Oluwole

Drifting

Rating: 4.3

Is there any choice?
We've fallen into a pit
Where sorrow sings
And hope drowns in an endless sea.

Visions wear phantom masks
No one dares to lift.
The world spins anticlockwise,
And we row a boat
That was never ours.

Time bends.
We float, untethered,
Haunted by the echo
Of our own disquiet.
