Drive Away Poem by Tatianna Rei Moonshadow

Drive Away

I'm sick of this place
I'm sick of this time
And I'm sick of the dreams
That are driving me out of my mind
I'm sick of this town
And I'm sick of the wait
But what makes me sickest
Is counting the days
Until I can get in a car
With a full tank of gas
And drive as far as I can
Without looking back
To get out of this time zone
Out of this hole
I need to escape
Before I get too old
So I'm just running on dreams
About getting away
From all of this mess
That lasts day after day
Out of the state
That I can't seem to stand
Out of the life
That just keeps getting more bland
Looking at magazines
And hearing all of these tunes
Of the life that I'm leaving
I'm praying its soon
So I can run from the past
That just doesn't seem right
To pack up my bags
And drive all night
