Drop In The Ocean Poem by Natasha Andeyi

Drop In The Ocean

Rating: 5.0

No thing new under the sun
Maybe those that existed before time
Yet here I am, thinking I'm the first of my kind

Those with my blood look from above and laugh
They are irritatedly amused by the halfwit that I am
Don't I know I am one of them in some renewed form?
But I downplay their response for I'm one of a kind, right?

Apparently though, I'm not
Might be one in a kind, But not one of a kind
None of what I think makes me unique is out of this world
None of what I'll ever try to be will be unheard of in this world

Different and blessed, the chosen in my field
But the few chosen do add up to a multitude
And I end up being part of the ones in the variety of special kinds
Nothing that is me will scare history, even though I'm making history
Not downplaying my worth, just reminding me that I'm a drop in The beautiful Ocean
And that every drop is as vital to the making of the ocean
