Dulcet Tones - Poem by Tracey Witt

Your voice talks to me in ways that can't be imagined...
dulcet tones of wonder
and vivid imagination...

The pathway of white wings
and of cool darkened caverns
that lead to my heart...

Barefoot footsteps
that I can hear in a stony echo of sand,
I am ready for your voice
and all of the abundant promise that it holds...
of silken pleasures
and unburdened ecstasies

Poet's Notes about The Poem

Speaking on the phone about nothing of consequence, even that holds an allure, even that makes me smile a smile that's only for you...

I truly enjoyed your poems. This one is the most alluring one of all. It has a soothing effect for me personally, and touches me deeply. I especially like the part of Barefoot footsteps you can hear in a stony echo of sand. Feels picturesque & surreal. Love it.
